Carson finally gives Rodney the all clear and as soon as he steps out of the infirmary, John grabs his hand and pulls him down the empty corridors. Rodney protests insistently, bathrobe flapping around him as they practically run through the halls of Atlantis. Then John pulls him into a room, the door slamming behind them as John pushes Rodney against the wall, his lips crushing Rodney’s a second later. Rodney responds but before it gets too deep, John breaks away and leaves Rodney blinking in surprise.

“That was for kissing Beckett.”

Rodney sputters. “That wasn’t me!! It was Cadman. John…mmmmpphh….”

His protests are smothered by another hot, fierce kiss which is again broken off too soon.

“That was for making me watch.”

“John….”

This time the kiss is soft and gentle, John’s grip on Rodney’s arms loosening. Rodney sighs against John’s mouth. John’s tongue licks at the corners of Rodney’s mouth before plunging in, tasting, encouraging Rodney to taste back. So Rodney does, he is a genius after all. Moments later, John pulls slowly back.

“That’s because I love you.”

“Oh. Really?”

John just nods. Rodney stares at John before pulling him close again.

“Well, I…uh…I lo….”

John’s finger is against his lips. “I know, Rodney.” Then they’re kissing again and Rodney just goes with it.
